How to be a respectful digital citizen
A digital citizen is one who abides by the rules of using technology and social media appropriately. There are many guidelines that help us stay on track to be responsible digital citizens, some of which are;
- Never reveal private information. Information such as your address, phone number, school and more can lead to cyber bullying issues.
- Always be respectful to others, especially when commenting.
- Be an up-stander and not a by-stander when witnessing a cyber bullying incident.
- Call trusted parents or guardians when need be.
- Always be careful when visiting sites, check it is one you know. (Example- Facebook not Faceb00k)
- Never chat or talk with strangers on the internet.
- Always be alert and check at all times for any spam or junk.
- Communicate politely with others.
- Be empathetic towards others.
- Never promote plagiarism. Always give a bibliography.
Those were my ten rules on digital citizenship. Be sure to follow them at all times.
