Review- The Detective's Assistant
Author: Kate Hannigan
Suggested age range: 8-13 years
The Detective's Assistant was one of the
most enjoyable books for me in the duration of the summers. It’s about a girl,
named Cornelia Warne, who goes to live in her aunt’s house because all her
other family members are dead. At first, Nell (Cornelia's nickname) feels that her aunt is
very boring and alongside, her aunt rejects Cornelia.
But soon, Nell discovers
that her aunt is a detective, absolutely the opposite of boring! She starts
helping her out and soon her aunt becomes accustomed to her.
From stopping murders and
robbers, to simply dressing up as a fortune-teller to make a lady confess, this
book has it all. It is a well-balanced book and continually funny.
